Winemaker /Co-owner
Lawrence Cortez, has also been involved in the wine industry for over 25 years. Previous wine industry experience includes cellar work at both Hans Kornell and Clos Pegase. His specialty is in the cellar; managing, nurturing and tending the juice and then assisting in the blending, aging and bottling of the wine. Pride Mountain Vineyards also employs Lawrence as a cellar master. Assisting in creating the wines for Corté Riva is allowing Lawrence to explore his creative side and learn more of the art that is winemaking.
Sales Director/ Co-owner
Nieves Cortez(pronounced Nay-ves), has obtained her knowledge of the wine industry through hard work and hands-on experience. Past work associations allowed her to observe and absorb the business that is behind the romance of wine. Corté Riva has allowed Nieves to showcase her effective management and outstanding sales skills as she continues to lead the label in their expansion efforts.
Winemaker
Romel Rivera, has worked with wine since he was a teenager. He worked in the fields, where he feels was a great experience becauses his hands-on work with the grapes gives him an edge. He is currently working for Pride Mountain Vineyards as a winemaker and he also had the opportunity to work along side Robert "Bob" Foley. He learned great winemaking techniques from Bob and also the other winemakers that have influenced him through his years in the wine business
Business Manager
Erica Difuntorum, has grown up in the wine industry and she has also had the opportunity to learn about wine by association. She is the daughter of Lawrence and Nieves and was raised in Calistoga. Calistoga, which is located in the Upper Napa Valley. Her invaluable insight helps Corté Riva Vineyards to plan for future growth. Erica's technical skills has her busy maintaining the website and creating wine labels and pamphlets.
